Dalai Lama meets Polish President
The XIV Dalai Lama, Tibet’s holy and political leader, had an unplanned visit to President Lech Kaczynski on Wednesday.
No official comment was issued by either side after the meeting but earlier Wednesday Kaczynski's press service had announced it would take place.
The Presidential Chancellery informed that the meeting was of a private nature and lasted for some thirty minutes.
The Dalai Lama’s visit to the Presidential Palace in Warsaw was a yet another part of his stay week long stay in Poland. Earlier on the spiritual leader was in Gdansk, where he took part in celebrations of the twenty-fifth anniversary of awarding Lech Walesa with Nobel Peace Prize.
Tibet’s Leader received also an honorary doctorate from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow and an honorary citizenship of the city of Wroclaw, western Poland.
Today the Dalai Lama is to visit the Parliament and meet with the Speakers of its both Houses and the MPs.
