The Dalai Lama in a Carmelites convent

Found on the Polish Radio web site.

Continuing his tour of Poland, The Dalai Lama has visited a Carmelites Convent in the south-western city of Wroclaw [map]. He talked to a group of twenty nuns in the presence of the local bishop. According to a press spokesman for the Wroclaw Curia, the meeting with a Buddhist monk was of a highly symbolic dimension for the Carmelites who are a contemplative order. The nuns gave the Dalai Lama a hand-made Christmas crib as a present.

In the convent, he also had a meeting with the President of Wroclaw, RafaƂ Dutkiewicz.

Tomorrow, the Dalai Lama will receive the honorary citizenship of Wroclaw, before going to Warsaw in the afternoon.

The Polish capital will be the last leg of his tour, which earlier included Krakow and Gdansk, where the Dalai Lama attended the ceremonies marking the 25th anniversary of the Nobel Peace Prize for Lech Walesa.
