President Obama says US is “not in favour” of Tibetan independence

Speaking in Beijing shortly after announcing the US and China had reached a deal to curb greenhouse gases President Obama said on Wednesday, "we recognize Tibet as part of the People's Republic of China. We are not in favor of independence."
