U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice asks Chinese President Hu Jintao to reach out to the Dalai Lama

In a very short piece, latimes.com reports that U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice met with Chinese leaders Sunday and has asked them to contact the Dalai Lama, stating that the exiled leader is "no threat to China".

Rice, speaking at a news conference after meeting President Hu Jintao and other leaders, said she asked them to "reach out to the Dalai Lama."
